OUR STORY.

Aasharya is an initiative by Samaira Khanna.

It stands for hoping for the best and working hard to achieve it.

Samaira Khanna is a Grade 6 student of The Sri Ram School Aravalli, Gurugram, Haryana. In the year 2020, with the outbreak of COVID19, the world saw one of the worst health crisis ever. There were lockdown’s announced, impacting the livelihoods of India’s poor including the migrants. Samaira felt deeply concerned for the not-so-fortunate & wanted to do something for them.

Samaira is aware that the outbreak of COVID 19 and its consequences can make children anxious and stressed. Physical distancing from friends can be a cause of distress for the children. Therefore, it is extremely important to keep them engaged. Therefore, she decided to take Virtual Story Telling classes for 3 to 7 year old children and donated all the earnings to the people who needed it the most at the time of pandemic.

Impact

Samaira started on this path towards serving the most marginalized by having Story Telling Sessions for children and charging Rs. 50.00 / Rs. 100.00 per child. These funds were used for the following purposes

  1. First COVID Lockdown in the year 2020, saw one of the worst humanitarian crisis ever that the country had seen. Samaira’s earnings were used towards providing food to the poor / migrants. Click Here
