Aasharya is a student-led, purpose-driven initiative that believes in the power of storytelling to shape emotionally aware, socially conscious, and compassionate human beings.
At our core lies a simple belief:
When listeners are emotionally aware and socially conscious, they grow into kinder, stronger adults.
We create safe, inclusive spaces where children and elders come together through storytelling, creativity, and shared experiences. At Aasharya, learning happens through stories —it becomes a journey of empathy, expression, and connection.
Our Story
Aasharya was founded in 2020 by Samaira Khanna, during a time when the world was facing the worst time ever – time of isolation, fear, and uncertainty due to the pandemic.
Children, in particular, were deeply affected during this time. They were emotionally disconnected from schools, friends, and normal routines. Loneliness was creeping in slowly and surely. To create a sense of connection and emotional engagement, Aasharya began with virtual storytelling sessions.
What made these sessions special was their purpose. All proceeds were donated to support the not so fortunate through food aid, PPE kit distribution, and digital access for education.
What started as a small initiative soon evolved into a purposeful journey—rooted in leadership, empathy, and service—driven by the belief that even small actions can create lasting impact.
What We Do
At Aasharya, storytelling is our starting point, but impact is our goal.
We work across communities to:
- Conduct storytelling sessions that nurture emotional awareness and creativity in children
- Create safe spaces for expression, reflection, and dialogue
- Encourage intergenerational storytelling that connects children and elders
- Support community initiatives focused on education, wellbeing, and dignity
